Grand Junction to Spanish Fork Utah 7/19

Left Grand Junction about 7 a.m.  Beautiful drive to Arches National Park.  Then on to Colordao Monument National Park.  most of the drive except for the Parks was a desert.  Mountains of what looked like sand and flat sections totally dry with just a few scrub junnipers.  No houses, no businesses.  Coming into Spanish Fork we went through ????    Canyon on Rt. 191 and Rt. 6.

Taking I70 to next stop in Grand Junction CO.

Gorgeous drive through Glenwood Canyon.  Stepped into Colorado river.  Every size, height, shape, type of mountains and beautiful Canyons.

Great Sand dunes national park

Viewed the Spanish Peaks up close

Saw lots of ranch land in a huge basin area with the mountains surrounding us. Thru Alamosa - had lunch.  Poncha Springs. Then stopped in Fairplay (South Park) .  Bumper to bumper traffic on the 470 when going back to Highlands Park.

Went to Red Rocks and were able to get into the ampitheater.

Went to Sara and Matt's (and Ben) for dinner.  Dog and cat. 

RMNP to Highlands Ranch 7/14

Saturday, July 14th

Leaving hotel in Johnstown CO and heading to new digs in Highlands Ranch CO for 4 days.

Drove the Peak to Peak Scenic byway.

Went to Lookout Mountain and Buffalo Bills grave.

Started to Red Rocks Ampitheater but took a wrong road and went into Downtown Boulder.

To Red Rocks - couldn't get in the inside

Arrived at Airbnb.  Met with owners.  2 dogs. 3 chickens.  

Estes Park RMNP 7/13

Friday, July 13th

We have a 4 hour tour scheduled today with Bruce of Tour Estes Park. Drove to Estes Park through Big Thompson Canyon.  Beautiful views.

Met at Visitors Center.  Drove around the Stanley Hotel.  Entered RMNP on Old Fall River Road. Took the Trail Ridge Road to the top at 12,050 feet.  Saw one herd of female Elk with their little ones.  Saw a moose off in the trees.

Drove Rt. 7 to Rt. 72 back to Loveland.  Great scenery of canyon and Rocks.
